There’s something to be admired about people that manage to keep a clutter-free home despite work challenges, kids, and a busy schedule.
It seems like anyone with a clean and organized home has their life together. They seem more confident, less stressed and like the goal-getters we all strive to be.
Speaking from personal experience and from watching many clients change, it is true – becoming more organized will make your life easier.
The best part is that you don’t have to do major any lifestyle changes to be more organized.
You just need to pick up a few good habits and stack them together. With consistent practice, these habits will transform you into the confident, calm go-getter you know you can be.
So if you’re looking for ways to be more organized, here are 7 steps you can take right now to instantly improve your life.
If you know what you need to do, but then it just doesn’t happen because you forget or get sidetracked, a to-do list will help you keep everything straight.
To-do lists are great for keeping track of your tasks and making sure they get done. They’re also great for helping you prioritize and organize your day so that nothing slips through the cracks.
I use an app on my phone to keep track of my tasks but you can also use a physical list. My favorite part about my day is to check things off as I complete them and feel like I’m getting closer to my goals.
It’s no secret that keeping a clean kitchen is important. The kitchen is the heart of the home and the mess can make you and your family feel frustrated and overwhelmed.
While it’s easy to let dirty dishes and little messes pile up during the day, doing the dishes and wiping the counters after every meal will save you time and stress in the long run.
This simple habit will also make your mornings more enjoyable and your home more welcoming.
The next time you’re putting away groceries, try this technique.
Adding new habits onto old ones, such as cleaning out the fridge when putting away the groceries, is one of the best ways to pick up a new healthy habit.
It helps you create simple and repeatable routines, making you more productive and organized in the long run.
In the case of your fridge or pantry, it also helps you notice and get rid of experied or uneaten food faster.

Research shows that a clean, organized environment leads better focus, and there is no better way to get rid of unnecessary clutter than going paperless.
We unconciously accumulate so much paper in our homes that when left unchecked for a long time can become hard to manage.
The best way to stop this from happening is to get rid of paper as soon as it comes into your home, and to digitize everything you need to keep. I use the MYCENTRIQ app to do this.

This is such a simple strategy to becoming more organized and I have to share it with you. All you have to do is designate a box or area to put donation and introduce the concept to your family.
When you have a designated box for donations, you are more likely to let go of things.
You can let go of things that no longer serve you and do good with them insted.
Everyone in the family is encouraged to contribute to the cause and can add to the box whenever.
Clutter is stressful. It creates physical tension, mental distraction, and emotional instability—and it doesn’t help that we keep so many things that we don’t need or use anymore.
Decluttering can be really hard as it takes time, energy, and effort—not to mention a lot of willpower! But if you make it a habit to do it on a regular basis, you’ll find that it becomes much easier over time and you’ll have less things to declutter in general.
The best thing to do is to asses the items you want to keep as they come into your home. If they don’t spark joy, toss it in the donation bin.
