As someone who loves making spaces both beautiful and functional, I’m excited to share with you my go-to organization strategies for four key areas of your home: the kitchen, bathroom, kids’ rooms, and closets.
These aren’t just any tips; they’re the foundational solutions that can completely revamp how you use and enjoy these spaces.
Plus, I’ll introduce you to some tried and tested products from my shop that perfectly align with these strategies. Ready to transform your home? Let’s get started!
When organizing your kitchen, there are a few things to keep in mind that can completely transform how you use the space you have. The size of the kitchen doesn’t matter as long as you’re using it effectively. It’s all about smart placement and understanding your cooking habits.
For starters, keep the items you use daily within arm’s reach. There’s no need to stretch or stoop for your go-to pots, pans, or utensils. This approach not only cuts down on prep time but also adds a touch of ease to your cooking routine.
On the other hand, those items you don’t use as often, like special occasion dishware or those once-a-year appliances, can be stored out of the way. High shelves or the back of cabinets are perfect for these.
In my own kitchen, I’ve embraced zone-based organization. It’s about dividing your kitchen into areas dedicated to specific tasks: prepping, cooking, cleaning, and storage.
This way, everything you need for each task is right where you need it. It’s a game-changer, especially when you’re in the middle of a recipe and need to quickly grab a whisk or a measuring cup.
And don’t underestimate the power of clear storage containers. They not only help you spot what you need at a glance but also keep your ingredients fresh and your pantry organized.
I like to sort my containers by category – baking supplies in one area, snacks in another – creating mini-zones within my pantry.
Remember, whether you have a spacious kitchen or a cozy one, it’s about making the most of your space with thoughtful organization.
For the kitchen, here are 2 organization supplies I simply can’t live without:
I have more products for the kitchen I recommend in my shop, including a variety or clear containers for any needs you may have in your kitchen. I love these containers because they’re so useful and look good in any kitchen.
Just like in the kitchen, organizing a bathroom comes down to a few essential principles.
Your daily essentials like toothbrushes, toothpaste, face wash, and towels should be right there when you need them, maybe on the vanity or a nearby shelf.
As much as possible, try to keep your countertops clear. If you’re someone who keeps a lot of things on your counters, try this trick and see how much your morning routine improves.
You don’t have to get rid of everything, but what you want to do is keep your most-used items handy while the rest stay out of the way, keeping your bathroom neat and functional.
Bathrooms aren’t always roomy, and they can get cluttered fast. A good trick is to think upwards.
Using vertical space – like adding shelves, over-the-toilet storage, or hanging organizers.
These options give you extra storage spots without cramping your floor space.
For the bathroom, here are 2 organization items I use and recommend all my clients do too:

When organizing your child’s room, keeping their age in mind is the most important. I wrote a detailed blog post about organizing for different childhood phases just last week, so give that a read for more in depth advice.
As you organize, make sure that items in the room are easily accessible to your child.
Store frequently used toys, books, and clothing at their eye level, so they can reach and put away things independently.
Use child-friendly storage solutions such as low shelves, bins, and baskets. You can take it a step further and add labels. Labels with pictures are especially useful for younger children to help them identify where items belong. This way you can promote their independence and encourage them to take responsibility for their space.
Remember, as they grow, their needs change so don’t be surprised that you have to rethink the organization system in your child’s room every couple of years.
As they grow older and more independent, it’s even more important to create designated zones within the room for different activities, such as reading, art, and play.
Each zone should have its own set of appropriate items and storage.
By establishing clear boundaries for activities, you help your child understand where specific tasks should happen and make clean-up more manageable.
Don’t forget to involve your child in personalizing their space with decorations, artwork, and items that reflect their interests.
This way they fosters a sense of ownership and makes the room feel like a welcoming and inspiring environment for them.
For kids’ rooms, here are my top organization picks:
If you’re looking for more kids’ room organization solutions, I have a bunch of ideas on my shop page.
The one principle to keep in mind when organizing your closet and clothes is simplicity.
Keeping things simple means that your closet should be well-organized, clutter-free, and easy to navigate.
I can’t emphasize enough how important it is to regularly go through your clothes and accessories and get rid of items you no longer wear or need. Donate, sell, or discard items that are worn out, ill-fitting, or out of style.
Also think about the most effective way to work with the space you have. Closets often have unused vertical space that can be maximized. You can add shelves or hooks to these spaces to organize things like belts, scarves, hats or other accessories.
Customizable closet organizers and dividers are another solution to help tailor the space to your specific needs, whether it’s hanging space, shelves, or drawers.
When it comes to organizng clothes, here are two items I swear by:

By focusing on these four key areas – the kitchen, bathroom, kids’ rooms, and closets – you can create spaces that are not only visually appealing but also highly functional.
