The year is quickly drawing to a close and today, I really want to share a side of Bless the Mess that goes beyond just organizing homes.
When I started this journey with Bless the Mess, I had a broader vision in mind. Yes, organizing homes was the core of my why, but there was more I wanted to achieve – making a tangible difference in people’s lives through charity and community service.
This post is a little trip down memory lane, looking at the various charity events we’ve been part of over the last 3 years. It’s about the joy of giving, the lessons learned, and how every little effort counts.
I hope this post inspires you to give a little and see what a powerful impact your giving has on the world at large.
When I first started participating in the annual charity bazaar, it was an extension of what Bless the Mess does best – encouraging decluttering.
But instead of just tidying up, we took it a step further. We urged our community to donate these items.
It’s incredible how items that no longer serve us can be treasures for others. Over the years, this bazaar has become a staple event for us.
It’s a heartwarming sight to see the community come together and always a warm reminder of how interconnected we all are.

Another venture close to my heart has been our involvement and my talk at Seeds of Compassion – a Children’s Day Blessings event organized by TEC WǒMén.
Here, through simply volunteering my time and expertise, I had the opportunity to blend my passion for home organization with a cause that mattered.
Speaking at this event and others allows me to share insights on how a well-organized home can lead to a peaceful mind.
It isn’t just about the physical aspect of organizing; it is about instilling a sense of calm and order in one’s life.
These talks are more than just sharing tips; they are about connecting with people and sharing a slice of tranquility, something that sometimes feels so foreign in our fast-paced world.

My engagement with the Cub Scouts has been another enriching experience that I also get to share with my son, a proud Scout himself.
Their annual fundraising events aren’t just about raising money; they’re about building a sense of community and responsibility among the youth.
Being a part of these events we contribute by sharing our skills and time.
And it’s such a joy to see the younger generation learn the value of community service and to be a small part of that learning journey.

Lastly, there are the smaller yet equally important initiatives, like supporting my friend Pilar at Will Farm and volunteering during travels.
These experiences have taught me that charity doesn’t always have to be on a large scale. Even small, individual efforts can create ripples of change.
Encouraging our network to donate, according to their ability, has shown me that everyone has something to give, no matter the size.

This journey with Bless the Mess, participating in charity and giving has been an enlightening one. It’s taught me and others that organizing a home is just the beginning.
Organizing efforts to help others, to make a small dent in the universe, is where the real joy lies.
It’s about the smiles, the thank yous, and the knowledge that in some small way, we’re making a difference.
I hope this post inspires you to look at the items in your home differently, to see the potential in giving back, and to find joy in the smallest acts of kindness.
