Even though the holidays are one of the busiest times of the year, I never back down from hosting an event that brings people together.
I love seeing familiar faces reconnect and new friendships begin. This year, I wanted to end the season with something fresh, something that felt festive yet relaxed.
The idea of a Holiday Night Market came to me and I just couldn’t wait to bring it to life at House of Tan, where over the years my team and I have worked to cultivate a community in the most natural way.
A Gathering of Communities
As soon as the guests started to arrive, the space filled with energy. Parents and friends from international schools like SAS, Wellington, SCLK, SCIS and YKPS joined General Consul guests and local communities.
Many had not met before, yet conversations started easily. The mix of people created an atmosphere that felt both welcoming and lively.
House of Tan has always been more than a venue to me. It is a place where people come together to share ideas, support one another, and celebrate life. Seeing everyone gathered with such warmth reminded me why I love organizing events, even during the busiest time of the year.
Shops, Sounds, and Shared Moments
The market was designed to be interactive and social. Guests browsed through stalls featuring brands like STAPLE, Skechers and LeSportsac, each offering their own seasonal collections and holiday finds. The live band played throughout the night, giving the space a rhythm that kept people smiling, talking, and moving.
There was food, laughter, and that steady hum that fills a room when everyone is at ease. The lucky draw was a favorite moment, and every prize announcement brought a round of cheers. It was less about winning and more about sharing the fun together.
People often wonder why I take on large events when the season is already so full. The answer is simple. I love creating spaces where people feel connected and part of something meaningful. Events like this remind me of how strong community ties become when we make the effort to gather.
As the night came to an end, guests lingered, taking photos, sharing desserts, and saying their goodbyes slowly. I watched the last few conversations fade into laughter and thought about how much joy one evening can hold when people come together with open hearts.
House of Tan continues to be a place for moments like this. Each event is a chance to celebrate friendship, culture, and the simple pleasure of being surrounded by good company. That is what I hope people take away from every gathering I host.
What’s your favorite way to celebrate the holidays? An intimate gathering at home, an event with all your favorite people or both? I’m a fan of doing both myself 😊.
