Spring has arrived, and it’s the perfect opportunity to rejuvenate your home! As a professional home organizer, I understand that decluttering your living space can seem daunting, particularly when juggling a hectic schedule.
However, with a touch of planning and a detailed task list, you can make spring cleaning a breeze.
One of the first tasks I recommend tackling is seasonal closet changing.
This not only helps to declutter your closet but also ensures that your clothes are organized and easily accessible.
Start by taking inventory of your winter clothes and deciding what needs to be kept, donated, or thrown away.
Don’t know where to donate in Shanghai? I put together a list of charities that accept donations in this post.
For the clothes that you intend to put in storage, consider dry cleaning. Over the winter months, your clothes can accumulate dirt and sweat, which can cause discoloration and odors.
Dry cleaning helps to remove these particles and refresh your items, making them look and smell like new.
Store your winter clothes in plastic containers or vacuum-sealed bags to protect them from dust and moisture.
As you switch out your wardrobe, take the opportunity to declutter and organize your closet by using drawer organizers, hanging shelves, and storage bins.

There you have it! These spring cleaning tasks might seem like a lot, but taking them one at a time can really make a difference in how clean and organized your home feels.
And the best part? Once you’ve tackled these tasks, you can sit back and enjoy your fresh and tidy living space all spring long (and even beyond!). Don’t let a busy schedule stop you from achieving your home organization goals – just take it one step at a time and enjoy the process!
