If you’ve been following our series, you already know that at House of Tan, each space has its own unique story and charm. Today, I’m excited to take you inside one of our most engaging dining areas – the Teppanyaki room.
Our family clubhouse features three distinct private dining rooms, each offering a special culinary journey for our clients, staff, and business associates.
The Teppanyaki room is where the art of grilling and broiling comes to life. “Teppan” means iron plate, and “yaki” refers to grilling, broiling, or pan-frying. This dining style is renowned for its interactive and entertaining nature.
Our skilled chef prepare and cook meals right before your eyes. We knew this dynamic concept would be ideal for entertaining our clients and transforming a meal into a memorable event.
Keep reading as I take you on an exclusive tour of the Teppanyaki room.
Before even stepping into the Teppanyaki room, you’re greeted by an entryway that seamlessly blends modern and traditional design elements.
We’ve thoughtfully designed this space to be both sophisticated and inviting by using natural materials like wood and stone.
This carefully curated space sets the tone for an extraordinary dining experience our guests expect.
I want to point out the dark wood slatted partition we added as a significant feature in the entryway.
I like it because it adds a contemporary feel while also creating a semi-transparent barrier, offering privacy without completely closing off the space.
The centerpiece is an 11-seater teppanyaki table, made from durable materials to withstand high heat and designed to allow guests to watch as their meals are expertly prepared. Our chef, with over a decade of experience, brings a high level of skill and artistry to every dish.
We also added another 9-seater dining table, ideal for small group dinners or family meals with children. This table, made of dark wood, complements the teppanyaki table, creating a cohesive and harmonious design.
Lighting plays a crucial role in enhancing the atmosphere of the Teppanyaki room. We installed recessed lighting throughout the space to create soft, even illumination, cultivating a comfortable and inviting environment.
One of our clever design choices was positioning the chef in front of the massive windows. This way, the chef becomes the focal point, and the dynamic lighting conditions throughout the day add drama and visual interest to the dining experience.
We also incorporated lighting at the Teppanyaki bar. This subtle yet effective lighting accentuates the bar area, adding depth and dimension to the space. It not only highlights the intricate design details of the bar but also provides a gentle glow that enhances the overall ambiance.
The furniture in the Teppanyaki room is designed to blend functionality with style, enhancing both the dining experience and the room’s aesthetic appeal. The centerpiece, our Teppanyaki table, features a durable granite countertop capable of withstanding high heat.
This provides ample space for the chef to work and for diners to comfortably enjoy their meals. The dark wood used for the base and additional table adds a rich, warm tone that complements the overall color scheme, creating a cohesive and inviting environment.
I specifically wanted to have communal dining surfaces to encourage social interaction. The chairs I picked feature sleek dark wooden frames with upholstered seats in a neutral color, offering both comfort and elegance.
In addition, I picked rattan and cane backs to introduce a touch of natural texture making the room feel warm and inviting.
I’ve carefully curated the decor to enhance the dining experience, blending functionality with visual appeal. One of my favorite features is the large woven fish sculpture hanging from the ceiling.
This striking piece adds a touch of whimsy and natural beauty, grounding the space in a rich narrative.
For the walls, I chose light wood paneling to create a warm and inviting atmosphere. The natural grain of the wood adds texture and visual interest, bringing a sense of organic beauty to the room.
I focused on minimalistic and functional decor to highlight the inherent beauty of the materials used. Mirrors and slatted partitions not only enhance the aesthetic but also serve practical purposes, creating a sense of space and depth.
To evoke tranquility and simplicity, I incorporated a few minimalistic plants. These subtle touches of greenery add life to the room without overwhelming the overall design. Every decorative element was chosen to contribute to a serene and harmonious environment, making it a perfect setting for an unforgettable dining experience.
