3. Stop using synthetic air fresheners and opt for more natural alternatives.
As I mentioned before, air fresheners can contain harmful chemicals that could be dangerous for your health—and they don’t actually do anything but mask scents for a short period of time anyway.
The natural alternative you should opt for instead is essential oils.

4. Get rid of old/cheap non-stick cookware
While not all non-stick cookware is deemed harmful anymore, make sure you always check the quality of your non-stick pans before buying and invest only in good quality cookware.
You must also replace your non-stick cookware if you notice that the coating is either cracking up or flaking.
This is because the chemical Perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA) was used to layer non-stick Teflon pans until 2015.
Some alternatives to Teflon non-stick cookware are stainless steel and cast iron.
5. Get rid of any old cosmetics that may contain harmful chemicals or preservatives.
When you use cosmetics, your skin absorbs chemicals, which can then enter the bloodstream. You can also inhale powders or ingest some cosmetics — by using lip products, for example.
Although many ingredients in makeup are safe, a number of common ingredients can be harmful to both the body and the environment.
Because of the daily use items that contain pollutants, oftentimes the air we breathe inside our homes is much more polluted than the air outside.
Proper ventilation will help to remove large particles and dust from the air and allows fresh air to circulate and detox your home naturally.
This can effectively help to reduce allergens, and condensation and helps protect your family’s respiratory health.
7. Make a habit to get rid of dust and dirt
Keep your home free of dust and dirt to avoid exposing yourself to harmful particles.
Not only does dust make your home look unclean, but it’s also bad for your health. Dust mites are allergens that can cause respiratory infections like asthma.
