Designing the gym at House of Tan, has been such a fun project for me and the team that I still think about to this day.
This space which is located one floor above the rest of the club house, is one of the last I’ll be sharing as we wrap up the House of Tan series.
And this space, in particular, reflects my passion for creating environments that are not just functional but truly welcoming and tailored to our lifestyle.
When I envisioned the Sweat Box, I knew I wanted a space that embodied simplicity while serving every possible need of our family, our colleagues, business associates and friends.
The open layout was a deliberate choice, creating a sense of freedom and fluidity as you move from one workout area to the next.
I’ve always believed that a gym should feel as expansive as the energy you bring to it, which is why I avoided cluttering the space with unnecessary equipment.
Instead, I focused on zoning areas for specific purposes—whether it’s cardio, strength training, or stretching—each zone feels purposeful and seamlessly integrated.
As a professional organizer, my approach to the Sweat Box was naturally rooted in a deep appreciation for order.
The clear, compartmentalized containers you see aren’t just a design choice—they’re a reflection of my belief that organization is the backbone of productivity and peace of mind.
I wanted every item, from skincare products to towels, to have a dedicated spot, making it effortless to maintain a tidy environment even during the busiest times. The satisfaction I get from knowing exactly where everything is—and the ease it brings to my daily routine—is something I wanted to extend to everyone using this space.
Plus, these organizers add a sense of transparency, both literally and figuratively, allowing you to see exactly what you need at a glance.
Sweat Box isn’t just about having a place to work out; it’s about creating an environment that encourages a holistic approach to wellness.
That’s why we offer a variety of group classes throughout the day, from energizing Zumba sessions to high-intensity HIIT and fun K-pop dance classes.
These classes are designed to cater to different fitness levels and interests, making it easy for everyone to find a workout they love.
We’ve also partnered with top-notch personal trainers, available to guide you through personalized fitness plans—though these services are optional and paid for independently by employees.
To ensure that our space meets the highest standards, we invested in brand-new, state-of-the-art machines from Life Fitness.
Each machine is equipped with custom-colored leather seating, adding a personalized touch that reflects our commitment to quality. This is truly a professional, world-class gym that stands out in every way.
We believe that a healthy lifestyle should be accessible to everyone, especially those who work so hard to keep everything running smoothly at the House of Tan.
That’s why we offer all staff complimentary use of the gym and the variety of classes we provide.
Whether they’re winding down after a long day or looking to kickstart their morning with a burst of energy, the Sweat Box is here to support their fitness journey.
And for those of you wondering if friends and family can get in on the action—stay tuned!
We’ll soon be announcing membership availability, opening up our world-class facilities to a broader circle.
Lighting was another area where I wanted to add my personal touch. I’ve always felt that the right lighting can transform a space, making it more than just functional.
In the Sweat Box, I opted for a combination of backlit shelving and mirrors that not only provide the necessary illumination but also create a warm, inviting atmosphere.
The soft glow enhances the overall vibe of the gym, making it a place where you can feel both energized and at ease.
I chose this lighting specifically to avoid the harsh, clinical feel that some gyms have—because after all, a workout space should feel as nurturing as it is motivating.
Creating the Sweat Box has been a rewarding journey. This gym is a space that reflects our family’s values—clean, inviting, and thoughtfully designed.
The light, neutral color palette was chosen specifically to keep the atmosphere calm and refreshing, while the vibrant accents add just the right amount of energy.
Every decision, from the choice of materials to the placement of each piece of equipment, was made with the intention of creating a space where we can all feel motivated, comfortable, and truly at home.
The Sweat Box is more than just a gym for us; it’s a reflection of our commitment to health, wellness, and living thoughtfully.
I’m excited to finally share this space, knowing that it will be a place where we can all continue to grow, challenge ourselves, and find balance in our busy lives.
